The Eco-Innovators Network

Following Climate Action Commissioner Connie Hedegaard’s fascinating briefing to The Eco-Innovators Network in January 2011 (regarding the results of the COP 16 talks in Cancún), Christiana Figueres, executive secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, took time out of her busy schedule to deliver The 2011 Robert Schuman Lecture to the Lisbon Council. In her remarks, she issued a fascinating appeal to progressive business, calling on them to make their voice heard and to support the UN process with deeds as well as words – and not to wait for governments and inter-governmental processes to take the lead on building a low-carbon economy. Ms. Figueres was speaking in Brussels less than three weeks before she was due to open the COP 17 talks in Durban. You can watch Ms. Figueres’ inspiring message here on the home page of The Eco-Innovators Network.
