Financial Times "Brussels pledge as reform suffers setback”

Paul Hofheinz of the Lisbon Council, a think-tank that advocates economic reforms, said yesterday: "If reforms stall in France, that is bad news for all of us. But above all, it's bad news for the French. France has got to get a grip on modernity, and the fact that it is not globalisation that is posing a threat to the country but its own policies."
