In 2014-2015, four teams of College of Europe students (Falcone and Borsellino promotion) were asked to study the problems of a leading European public administration – and propose innovative solutions to the challenges those agencies face. This year, the case studies all focused on a winner of the European Commission’s European Capital of Innovation ‘iCapital’ Award, given to the most innovative cities in the European Union. The four cities were Barcelona, Spain; Espoo, Finland; Groningen, the Netherlands and Paris, France. The students were tasked to help these leading cities’ public administrations to better understand their public sector challenges and to make concrete recommendations on how best to improve their innovation strategies. The final results are published in College of Europe Student Case Studies Final Report 2015.
